Coaches Corner: Meet Head Volleyball Coach Kim Nemcek

Posted On: August 10, 2012 Posted By: Stuart Chowning

The 2012-2013 CCHS Volleyball season has already kicked off and Coach Nemcek is excited to introduce her team.  Coach Nemcek says, “This season is really going to show off our young talent.  With two major injuries to Senior Julia Peters and Junior Taylor Kennedy, this gives our younger classman a time to step up and show how they can compete.  We will be led by two seniors Sophie Head and Paige Painter.  From observing this first week of practice, I am very excited for this season.  The girls are working hard and are ready for a successful season.”

Coach Nemcek has coached volleyball for 3 seasons.  This season marks her debut as Camels Varsity Head Coach.  She is a recent graduate of the Northern Kentucky University where she also played Volleyball.  She got to know the Camel Community while student teaching at CCHS.  When the coaching job became available…it was perfect fit.  She also teaches Inspiring Social Studies at the school.

She is joined in this pursuit of excellence by JV Coach Kathy Peters and Freshman Coach Sarah Drennen.

Coach Nemcek describes her coaching style as, “I want to incorporate conditioning with volleyball and believe being a team is important.  I always like to do drills that involve teamwork and team building so they can succeed together.  I expect the girls to give their best in every drill and if they do that, they will see positive results.”

She continues, “The most rewarding aspect of coaching this Camel team is seeing the girls love the game of volleyball.  Every day, I get to help push these Camel athletes to be the best athletes they can be.  The community should know that this is a great group of girls who work hard and want to make Campbell County proud on and off the court!”

As you can see this Camel coach and team are Camel Proud!
