Congratulations to the following state qualifiers:
Girls Results
After all the weather reports of the week, Friday night we ended up having perfect weather for some great track and field. Overall the Lady Camels finished 3rd, just 1.3 points from second place. That in itself shows the fighting the spirit and tight fight for points that our region so often produces. While we may have been just short of our team goal, looking at the performance list below, it is obvious we gave all we could last night and have the hearts of champions.
Performance Highlights of the night:
Regional Champions (STATE QUALIFIERS):
- 4×800 (Reagor, G. Kramer, Meiser, Kavanaugh)
- Becca Cline: 300 Meter Hurdles
Regional Runners-up (STATE QUALIFIERS):
- Becca Cline 100m Hurdles
- Kayla Kavanaugh 400 meter Dash, 800 Meter run
- Laney Weinberg–High Jump (PR!)
- 4×400 (G. Kramer, Meiser, Kavanaugh, Cline)
3rd place finishes:
- Grace Kramer 400 meter dash
- Laney Weinberg Long Jump
4th place finishes:
- Sidney Reagor- 1600 and 3200
5th place fnishes:
- Laney Weinberg Triple Jump
- Becca Cline-200 meter dash
Other notable performances:
- Brittney Rust 4th/5th in high jump based on height (though with multiple ties and having to dig down through misses, results don’t truly show the performance it was!)
- Allie Franzen dropping 5 seconds in the 1600 for a PR.
- Gracie Florimonte still dropping a 2:35 in the 800 meter run coming off her injury
- Sophia Lauer sprinting to a PR in the 100 meter dash
- Brittany Rust with a PR in the 200 meter dash
- Laney Weinberg with a PR in the 100 meter Hurdles
Now we set our sites on state qualifiers and one last meet to hit some personal and school records. We will not know the additional state qualifiers until Sunday afternoon after all regions have reported their performances. As a reminder, the top two in the reagion automatically advance, and then the next 10 best performances in the state (in class AAA). I have no doubt we will have a lengthy list!
