NKAC Recap

Posted On: May 1, 2015 Posted By: Toni McKee

Last night the Running Camels competed in the Northern Kentucky Athletic Conference at Ryle High School. The all-relay meet is always full of great athletes and the Camels faced an extremely competitive field.

The Lady Camels ran some season best performances and finished 4th overall. Highlights of the night included conference Champions in the shuttle hurdle relay of Rachel Combs, Brooke Buckler, Becca Cline, and Sidney Reagor, as well as the 4×800 of Sidney Reagor, Jennah Flairty, Kayla Kavanaugh, and Gracie Florimonte bringing home the gold. The distance medley of Brooke Buckler, Jennah Flarity, Sidney Reagor and Gracie Florimonte placed 2nd. The throwing duo of Olivia Cassinelli and Kaylee Johnson doubled with the 3rd place finishes in the shot and disc. All of our relays had season best times and are poised for great times come post season in two weeks.

On the boys side, the Camels pulled out a fifth place finish, and much as the girls, had season best times in all relays. The distance medley of Brandon Cartwright, Cory Rauch, Thomas Comer, and Mark Chaplin placed second as well as the PV team of Shawn McGrath and John Leopold. The triple jump team of Andrew Hyden and Dalton Bates pulled in a 3rd place finish with both jumping personal bests as well.

Although places may not show it, our eyes are on the post-season coming up. It was a great night for the Camels and showed that we are ready to compete with the best with Region right around the corner!
