Villa For Life Recap

Posted On: March 23, 2015 Posted By: Toni McKee

Although Saturday started out a bit chilly, as the day warmed, so did our running Camels. At the Villa for Life meet on Saturday, the Camels turned it on to show their times are in the right place for this time of year. The Lady Camels were missing a few personnel, but still pulled in a 5th place finish in a large field of over 17 teams. Becca Cline easily knocked the rust off of the hurdles to cruise to first place finishes in both the 100 Meter Hurdles and 300 meter hurdles. Jennah Flairty and Sidney Reagor went 1-2 in the 800 meter run and 3200 meter runs showing they can go the distance! The day was solidified by a strong 3rd place finish for the 4×400 meter relay team of Emily Orth, Becca Cline, Emily Steele and Brooke Buckler. It was great day for some great times, showing we are right where we need to be at this point.

For the Camel Boys, their 5th place finish in a field of over 17 teams showed that they are also where they need to be. The boys the 4×800 meter relay of Thomas Comer, Jared Neiser, Brandon Cartwright, and Mark Chaplin started the day with a hard won 3rd place finish, while Mark Chaplin followed up later in the day with a tight battle to bring in the 2nd place 3200 meter run spot. Matt Mayer jumped to runner-up with a personal best 6 feet in the high jump. Adding points for the team were Derek Groneck and Matt Mayer with 2nd and 3rd in the Turbo Jav. For the second meet of the season, it was a great day!
