Scott Classic 5-1-14

The Girls Track Team placed 4^th and the Boys Team finished in 3^rd place at the Scott Classic on Thursday at Scott High School. Most of the members of the Girls and Boys track teams wrapped up their regular season meet schedule, while also prepping for next week’s Regional Meet. At the meet, the girls’ team highlights were:

Kelsey Riley, Natalie Fausz, Allison Wendling, and Kara Pangburn finished 8^th in the 4×800 Meter Relay
Becca Cline finished 1^st in the 100 Meter Hurdles with a time of 15.67
In the 4×200 Meter Relay, Emily Orth, Kaitlyn Donoghue, Abby Vandergriff, and Becca Cline earned a 4^th place finish
Jennah Flairty placed 2^nd in the 1600 Meter Run with a finishing time of 5:26.58
Becca Cline won the 300 Meter Hurdles with a finishing time of 46.16
Jennah Flairty won the 800 Meter Run crossing the finish line in 2:29.89
Jennah Flairty came in 2^nd place in the 3200 Meter Run with a time of 12:02.57
Becca Cline, Abby Vandergriff, Meredith Donoghue, and Jennah Flairty placed 4^th in the 4×400 Meter Relay
Meredith Donoghue jumped 15-05.50 and finished in 3^rd place in the Long Jump
Meredith Donoghue finished in 8^th in the Triple Jump with a distance of 29-07.00
In the discus, Olivia Cassinelli set a new PR and placed 4^th with a throw of 94-02

The boys’ team highlights were:

The 4×800 team of Joey McGrath, Marthen Kummer, Brandon Cartwright, and Mark Chaplin finished in 6^th place
Ben See finished 8^th in the 110 Meter Hurdles with a time of 17.99
In the 100 Meter Dash, Devon Strange came in 4^th place with a time of 11.55
Kyle Edgley, Gunner Froelicher, Andrew Hyden, and Dustin Turner placed 5^th in the 4×200 Meter Relay
Mark Chaplin won the 1600 Meter Run with a time of 4:43.18
The 4×100 Meter Relay of Gunner Froelicher, Dustin Turner, Kyle Edgley, and Devon Strange finished in 4^th place
Devon Strange placed 2^nd in the 400 Meter Dash with a finishing time of 53.64
In the 300 Meter Hurdles, Andrew Hyden earned a 6^th place finish with a time of 43.49
Devon Strange, with a time of 24.12, came in 5^th in the 200 Meter Dash
Mark Chaplin won the 3200 Meter Run with a time of 10:12.03
Marthen Kummer, Kyle Edgley, Dustin Turner, and John Leopold finished 6^th in the 4×400 Meter Relay
Matt Mayer (5-06.00) and Eric Dean (5-04.00) placed 2^nd and 4^th in the High Jump
Andrew Hyden jumped to a 6^th place finished in the Long Jump with a distance of 18-09.50
Andrew Hyden set a PR and jumped to a 2^nd place finish in the Triple Jump with a distance of 40-00.00
In the discus, Doug Carson set a new PR and placed 8^th with a throw of 116-10
Derek Groneck (41-00.00) and Doug Carson(40-10.00)finished in 4^th and 5^th place in the Shot Put

Both teams Pole Vaulters will jump in the Area 5 Championships at Dixie Heights on Saturday afternoon (5/3/14) and next Saturday, May 10^th, the Camels’ Track Teams will compete in the Region 5 AAA Championships.
