2014 NKAC Track and Field Relays: NKAC Large School Championship 4/22/14

On Tuesday night at Scott High School, the Camels competed in the 2014 NKAC Track and Field Championships. In hotly contested events, the Boys’ team ended up with a 7^th place finish, while the Girls’ team finished 8th. For the boys, the top performances were:

The 4×800 relay of Joey McGrath, Marthen Kummer, Kevin Lackey, and Mark Chaplin finished in 6^th place with a time of 8:51.77
The Distance Medley of Kevin Lackey, Shawn McGrath, Joey McGrath, and Mark Chaplin earned a 5^th place finish by finishing in 11:34.67
The high jump relay of Matt Mayer (5-04.00) and Eric Dean (5-04.00) came in 6^th with a combined height of 10-08.00
The shot put relay of Doug Carson (40-09) and Derek Groneck (40-10) finished 3rd with a combined throw of 81-07
The discus relay of Derek Groneck (103-06) and Doug Carson (107-05) finished 5^th with a combined throw of 210-11.00

For the girls, the top performances were:

The 4×200 relay of Kaitlyn Donoghue, Becca Cline, Emily Orth, and Abby Vandergriff finished in 5^th place with a time of 1:54.53
The 4×400 relay of Becca Cline, Kelsey Riley, Jennah Flairty, and Abby Vandergriff earned a 6^th place finish with a final time of 4:26.66
The Sprint Medley team of Becca Cline, Courtney Hammock, Emily Orth, and Emily Steele crossed the finish line in 2:02.90 which was good for 6^th place
The discus relay of Olivia Cassinelli (92-07) and Taylor Schuchter (75-04) finished 2nd with a combined throw of 167-11
