2013 NKAC Track and Field Relays: NKAC Large School Championship 4/23/13

On Tuesday night at the 2013 NKAC Track and Field Championships, both the boys and girls teams turned in very good performances in the running, jumping, and throwing events. In hotly contested events, the Boys’ team ended up with a 2^nd place (runner up) finish, while the Girls’ team finished 6^th. For the boys, the top performances were:

The 4×100 relay of Roosevelt Obison, Grant Mahoney, Devon Strange, and Jake Zabonick finished 2^nd with a time of 44.96
The 4×200 relay of Tim Weimer, Grant Mahoney, Devon Strange, and Jake Zabonick finished 1^st with a time of 1:33.83
The 4×400 relay of Devon Strange, Mohammed Bayyari, Will Seiter, and Grant Mahoney finished 4^th with a time of 3:38.03
The 4×800 relay of Kevin Lackey, Aaron Orth, Brett Torline, and Mark Chaplin finished 4^th with a time of 9:04.05
The Sprint Medley team of Roosevelt Obison, Cody Canaday, Jake Zabonick, and Grant Mahoney finished 2^nd with a time of 1:38.03
The 110 meter shuttle hurdle team of Cody Canaday, Mohammed Bayyari, David Behymer, and Ben See finished 1^st with a time of 1:07.77
The high jump relay of Matt Mayer and Jake Zabonick tied for 3^rd with a combined height of 11-00.00
The pole vault relay of Will Seiter and Ben See finished 1^st with a combined height of 22-00.00
The shot put relay of Logan Schneider and Doug Carson finished 5^th with a combined throw of 80-08
The discus relay of Derek Groneck and Doug Carson finished 6^th with a combined throw of 208-09

For the girls, the top performances were:

The 4×200 relay of Brooke Buckler, Becca Cline, Molly Kitchen, and Angela Lauer finished 2^nd with a time of 1:50.02
The 4×400 relay of Abby Vandergriff, Becca Cline, Molly Kitchen, and Jennah Flairty finished 4^th with a time of 4:21.06
The 4×800 relay of Mackenzie Cave, Jennah Flairty, Alex Gregory, and Abby Vandergriff finished 5^th with a time of 10:22.08
The Sprint Medley team of Angela Lauer, Alex Gregory, Emily Orth, and Kaitlyn Donoghue finished 6^th with a time of 2:05.57
The Distance Medley team of Mackenzie Cave, Jennah Flairty, Abby Vandergriff, and Alex Gregory finished 3^rd with a time of 13:42.45
The girls 100 meter shuttle hurdle team of Brooke Buckler, Becca Cline, Rachel Combs, and Alicia Setty finished 3^rd with a time of 1:11.41
The pole vault relay of Angela Lauer and Kristen Spahr finished 2^nd with a combined height of 14-06.00
The shot put relay of Kaylee Johnson and Gabby Elsbernd finished 6^th with a combined throw of 54-06.00
The discus relay of Olivia Cassinelli and Taylor Schuchter finished 4^th with a combined throw of 148-07
