Camels Climb Their Way Back

In the opening quarter the camels looked like they were going to cruise to a easy victory as they quickly scored two touchdowns. But Newport Central Catholic seemed unfazed as they would score 14 points of their own in the second quarter which would put the camels up by 7 points at the half.
The second half was a turn of momentum as NCC tied the game and would take the lead. Campbell County scored another touchdown but missed a crucial extra point as NCC would still lead 28-27.
In what turned into the camels last drive with less than two minutes to go in the 4th quarter, they were backed up deep in their own territory having 78 yards between them and the endzone. They put together a game winning drive that at times seemed hopeless. In that final drive they would convert one play on 4th and long and I believe two plays on 3rd and long. Throw in a defensive pass interference and the next thing you know the camels were punching the ball into the endzone with around 30 seconds left.
NewCath was able to drive down the field and throw up a prayer as the game clock expired, but it was unsuccessful. The camels survived!
With the win the camels improve their record to 2-1. They return home to take on Cooper next Friday night.
