The Camels traveled to Cooper last week and recorded another impressive victory. campbellcountyfootballhelmet This week the Camels (3-1) take on Conner (2-1).

The Conner Cougars have big wins against Boone County and Ryle this year.  Their only loss was a 42-35 close game versus Simon Kenton.

We spoke to Coach Lickert about last week’s game and what he is looking forward to this week.  When asked what impressed him most about the Camels vs. Cooper, Coach Lickert said, “We had some things go against us early and late, but we were still able to gut out a win.”

Last week they worked on protecting the ball and it showed on the field.  The Camels are back to work this week preparing for Conner.  What is the team focused on this week?  Coach Lickert says, “We continue to focus on our fundamental skills and techniques so that we can perform to the best of our abilities.”

Coach Lickert on this week’s game said, “We feel like we match up very well. Everybody knows about the talent Drew Barker has, but he also has a nice supporting cast around him.  It should be a great football game!”

He continued, “Our team becomes more of a team every day.  Everyone is figuring out their roles and working to help our team win.  Our team mental toughness is great and our kids have no quit in them.  This is due to the leadership of our senior group of young men.”

All of that toughness and leadership will be on display when the Camels travel to Conner this Friday @ 7pm.  Come out and help root them to victory!

Go Camels!!!
