The Camels finished the 2012 season with back-to-back District Championships. Coach Lickert and his staff are already planning to build on that success next season.
One of the major contributors to the Camel’s recent success has been athletes from the Campbell County Youth Football League (CCYFL). Coach Lickert recently said, “At the Varsity level, we are finally seeing the benefits of the CCYFL developing our kids into solid football players and becoming a true feeder system for Campbell County High School football.”
CCYFL will have a new leader next season. Mike Bates, who led the league for many years, will step aside while staying very involved in Campbell County football as the Varsity defensive backs coach.
Coach Lickert and Coach Caudill both recognize this transition as an opportunity to re-energize the league and make adjustments that benefit the students, parents, and long-term success of Campbell County Football. Coach Lickert had this to say:
As always, with change comes new opportunities to bring new energy into the league. We will be looking for a new energetic leader to take over the reigns of the CCYFL. Any people interested in taking on this opportunity are encouraged to apply at the following link https://www.astihosted.

We will also be looking for people to serve on a CCYFL Executive Board and Advisory council, in order to assist in making league decisions in correlation with representatives from Campbell County football and Campbell County athletics. We will be looking for volunteers to be in charge of website development, fundraising, concessions, spiritwear, etc. Together, we have an opportunity to make the CCYFL grow and prosper.
With all of that in mind, CCYFL will be conducting an Open Forum to discuss the league, new leadership opportunities, and other items.
