Camels beat Boone on Senior Night…

The Camels entered the night riding a wave of momentum. They beat Boone on this Senior Night while also honoring local inspiration Kasen Schrock and Bob Miller Stadium.

Campbell County kicked off to Boone and quickly took the ball back. The Camels opening drive was efficient and resulted in a 6 yard Tyler Durham touchdown run with 7:38 remaining in the 1st. The Camels led 7-0. Boone struck back on a 1 yard QB sneak with :12 remaining in the 1st quarter making it 7-6.

After a receiving the kickoff, Campbell County drove the field and scored on another Durham keeper from 9 yards out. The score was 14-6 and the Camels never looked back. Junior RB, Alex Howard, added to the lead with a 2 yard TD run. The score was 21-6 with 4:13 remaining in the 1st half.

The highlight of the game came just before the end of the 1st half. Tyler Durham completed a 15 yard pass to Jake Zabonick who immediately flipped the ball back to Alex Howard. The combination sped down the sideline for a 64 yard touchdown. The score was 27-6 at Halftime.

The Camels received to start the 2nd half and scored on a 60 yard strike in the opening seconds of the 3rd qtr. They led 34-6. Boone answered with two scores of their own bringing the score to 34-20 with 11:22 remaining in the 4th qtr.

Campbell County continued its dominance in the 4th qtr as they scored on a 35 yard Tyler Durham run. They led 41-20 with 8:16 remaining in the game. Minutes later Senior RB, Stephen Myers, added a punctuation point to game with his own 5 yard TD run. The Camels went up 48-20. Boone scored again on an 85 yard run bringing the final score to 48-28.

The win was a huge boost for the Camels as they look forward to their final regular season game at Ballard next Thursday @ 7pm (Please note the date change…THURSDAY @ 7pm).

Campbell County Football honored its Senior leaders during pregame festivities. The Seniors include: Mitch Kramer, Marcus Furguson, Adam Wathy, Stephen Myers, Tyler Walsh, Kent Bachman, Grant Mahoney, Tyler Durham, Roosevelt Obison, Cody Canaday, Bobby Moore, Paul Griffis, Brayden Hannah, Joel Brune, Cody Burgess, Dan Couch, Patrick McCord, Brett Keeton, and Tim Weimer.

In addition, Campbell County honored Kasen Schrock. Kasen was injured 18 months ago in a freak accident at his home. He has been an inspiration to the entire community. Camels PA, Greg Rose, read an open letter from Kasen’s parents to the community. They thanked those who have, and continue to, pray for Kasen’s recovery. It was great to see Kasen tonight!

Finally, the entire Camel Community bid farewell to Bob Miller Stadium as Campbell County played their last regular season game there. Former players, coaches, and fans joined together in celebrating the memories and tradition that began on this field. Many more games will be played at Bob Miller by CCMS teams. With the foundation built at Bob Miller…the Camels look forward to opening their new state-of-the-art facility very soon.

Travel with the team next Thursday as the Camels finish the regular season at Ballard.
