Bob Miller Stadium Memorial

Friday, October 19 will be the final varsity regular season event held at Bob Miller Stadium on the campus of Campbell County Middle School. Before the Campbell County Camels football team could take the field for the 2012 football season, they had to work out, practice, and learn plays. But before the 1943 team could play, they had to build the field. The principal of CCHS at that time was F.I. Satterley. It was his desire for his school to start a football program and build a field on which to play. The first Team from the 1943 season, under then Head Coach Charles Mayer, did not play the field. All games were scheduled as away games as the Campbell County High School field was being constructed. The field was playable that next year for the 1944 football season. Wooden stands and field lighting were added later.
On September 21, 2001 the stadium was named for Coach Bob Miller. Coach Miller led the Camels from 1963-1978 and also served as the school’s Athletic Director. The Campbell County Schools would like to invite alumni who participated in events held on the field to join in a ceremony to honor the stadium and those who competed in it. Anyone who played, or coached, football, soccer; ran track, cheered, marched in the band, or another event held in the stadium is welcome to come to the field for the celebration at the conclusion of the game on October 19, 2012.
