Campbell County Middle School student Nick Stamm made his Team USA Sport Stacking debut last week in Detroit, Michigan at the AAU Jr. Olympics. Nick was 1 of 2 members from Ky. He was so excited to get his team “gear” and to meet and compete with the best stackers in the world.
In the end, he came home with 3 Gold medals in relay and doubles, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze medal in his division (William Polly, the world record holder who now has his own line of cups and one of Japan’s best stackers was in this division – also some very tough Team USA competitors). In the end, Nick ranked 15 out of 250 competitors overall (at least 8 of the kids in front of him hold or have held national or world records/championships).
Nick’s mother, Kellie Stamm, is a 2nd Grade Teacher at Campbell Ridge Elementrary. Mrs. Stamm said, “I was so proud of him, especially since he was so nervous. He handled it well and I was very proud of his positive sportsmanship and determination.”
Nick really demonstrated his Camel Pride. Great job Nick!
