Yesterday Camel Pride got a chance to tour the new facilities that are taking shape at the high school. Below are some pictures and facts about the gym and outdoor multipurpose facility.

Auxiliary Gym

The new auxiliary gym is located at the far south end of the building. Some of the features include:

  • 6 ceiling mounted basketball hoops
  • Seating for 300+ spectators
  • 2 wall mounted scoreboards
  • Durable synthetic surface

Football/Soccer/Track Facility

The new field features a synthetic surface which was partially paid for by the National Football League Grassroots Program, which donated $200,000 to cover some of the costs of the construction.

Some of the features include:

  • Camels interlocking C’s at center field
  • Football and Soccer striping
  • Seating for 3,700 spectators
  • Long/triple jump, pole vault, and high jump pits
  • Rubber Track
  • Larger concession area
  • Heated and air conditioned press box

This facility will be the home of all soccer, track and field events, and football games.

A big thanks to athletic director Stephen Hensley for giving us this access.
