We saw some great improvements this week in our team! We were blessed with a decent weather day and dry course conditions.
The Varsity Girls packed in this week with an improved 1-5 split of 2:42, nearly 1:30 closer than last week and scoring 6th of 14 teams! This type of pack running will be our strength as we face region competition. Allie Franzen once again led the Lady Camels with an 8th place finish and season best time. Beam Kumkerd blasted a personal best time and placed 17th. Kylie Little also had a personal best as she picked up her pace and clinched 21st place. Noel Slone (45) and Devan Carrigan (58) finished in the top 45% of racers to round out the Camels scoring squad and Emma Hogle pulled in a season best time wrapping up the Lady Camels.
In JV action, Destine Fury and Maddie Little ran season best times as well and Kristen Feiler nearly tied hers.
Overall the ladies had 8 season best performances among the 9 who competed.
In the Varsity Boys race, the guys charged the start and had 11 season best times among the 12 competing runners. Our 1-5 split was 40 seconds faster than week at 2:08, and we placed 10th of 19 teams. Noah Franzen led the Camels with a 13th place finish, and Jordan Hartig clipped close with 27th place. Anthony Ronnebaum completed the race in 44th, putting all top three Camels in the top 28% of runners in the race. We had a bit of a place gap, but then Adam Ruschman (80), Scott Snedegar (83), David Howard (93), and Brennan Perkins (96) came rolling in thick as thieves! If we can improve that 1-5 split by cinching that small gap, the Camels will be a formidable force.
In the JV race, Ethan Schwalbach finished 26th (top 29%), Josh Yang in 31st closing on him, and Noah Franzen (62) Joey Chaplin (66) both ran season best times.
