We had a great first start to our season this weekend!  The weather was better than we have seen in a few years and made for an exciting morning of hitting goals.

In the boys race, we had a 1-5 split of 58 seconds at the first mile, and finished with a 2:38. If we can pinch that split and pull the pack together, we will be a force. Noah Slone led the Camels with a 7th place finish followed closely by Jordan Hartig in 10th.  Anthony Ronnebaum was closing in on them with 16th, and Adam Ruschman claimed the Camels 4 spot in 20th. Rounding out the top 5 was Brennan Perkins in 43rd and packed in with David Howard in 44th and Cory Robinson in 46th.  Overall the Camels placed 3rd, just 12 points behind the 2nd place teams.

In the girls race, our Lady Camels came out strong and worked the course hard, claiming a 5th place team finish.  Allie Franzen led the Ladies with her consistent pacing pulling in a 5th place finish.  Kylie Little debuted in her first high school 5K and claimed 16th place. Savanna Krift was 35th overall and rounding out the top 5 scorers were Sophie Loesch (44) and rookie Emma Hogle (46).  On the whole, this is a young group of Lady Camels with great potential.  If their times continue to improve and we focus on our 1-5 split, we will easily achieve our season goals.
