What a great weekend for our running Camels!
The JV races led off our day and both the boys and girls JV teams brought home championship titles.
The girls were led by newcomer Lydia Wolf who won the girls’ race. Allie Markus, Samantha Schultz, and Brianna Stadtmiller finished 5-6-7, and were followed by Lauren Ginter in 9th, Emma Owen in 10th, and Sarah Reynolds in 19th, giving the Lady Camels a perfect score of 15 once all unattached runners were pulled from the results. This bumped the Camels to 1st of 4 represented teams for the morning.
In the boys JV race, Freshman Christian Poole was the first Camel to cross the line with a 3rd place finish and best time. Anthony Ronnebaum claimed 4th, and was followed closely by Joey Chaplin, Gage Howell, and Luis Riera who gave the Camels the score necessary to win the race.
In the Lady Camels varsity race, Sidney Reagor placed 6th and was followed by Senior Vanessa Neiser in 10th who continues to crush her times. Allie Franzen placed 14th, and Devan Carrigan and Paxton Glenn hit their goals and picked their way through the pack to add to the girls’ 3rd place finish out of 16 teams. We didn’t quite hit our 1-5 split goal, but stayed consistent within a few seconds of last week. This should just add more fuel to our fire to fight through the pack at our next meet.
In the Varsity Boys race, Christian Slone attacked the entire race and turned in a 6th place finish and personal record time of 17:02. Bryan Howell reeled in 12th place followed by Jordan Hartig, Colton Conroy, Anthony Schwarberg, and Daniel Chamberlain in goal setting times and a 1-5 split of 2:23. The Camels ended the day with a 4th place finish out of over 22 teams, and second among regional teams present. This should give the Camels the momentum they need entering the middle part of our competitive season.
