Lexington Catholic Invitational Recap

Posted On: October 19, 2015 Posted By: Toni McKee

This Saturday at the Lexington Catholic Invitational, many Camels slashed their times and gained great experience on the state course.
The Lady Camels worked hard to run some of their best times, even though injury and illness has taken a bit of a toll on them. Sidney Reagor ran her second best time of the season with a 19:52 and finished 39th of 262 runners. Freshman Allie Franzen ran a career personal record , as did Vanessa Neiser. Seniors Allison Wendling and Amber Valdez ran season best times and rounded out the the Lady Camels.

In the boys race, The Camels once again pounded out a best 1-5 split of just 1:22. Shawn McGrath led the Camels followed closely by Colton Conroy who ran a career best time. Bryan Howell and Anthony Schwarberg, who also ran a career best, rounded out the Camel Pack. Freshman Daniel Chamberlain brought in the 5th scoring position and another season best. Freshmen Noah Franzen and Trey Finkenstead also both ran personal bests by nearly 2 minutes each. Overall it was a great day for the Camels as they saw weeks of hard training pay off with some awesome splits and times. Their places Saturday would have put them 4th in the region, setting them up for a chance one of the state qualifier spots for region next week.
