Ryle Invitational Recap

Posted On: September 7, 2015 Posted By: Toni McKee

Saturday the running Camels once again ran hard and saw many goals accomplished at the Ryle Invitational.

Sidney Reagor once again solidified a 5th place finish with a time of 20:25, just 5 seconds from her personal best. With that continued drop, she will be a leader of the pack at region competiton. Senior Allison Wendling once again came in ahead of her goal, followed close behind by Anna Johnson.

In the JV race, Allie Franzen used her gained experience from last week and shot out of the gate placing 2nd in the JV race, while Junior Vanessa Neiser finished 12th in a race of 109 runners. Both ladies have made great strides since that first practice back in July, and should be sound members rounding out the varsity team soon. We didn’t have enough entered for a score, but next week with a full varsity squad on the line, we will see what we are made of!

The boys team came out aggressively and looked to break their goals. Bryan Howell once again led the Camels with a time of 18:12, beating his goal and pulling in a 31st place finish in a race of 124 runners. Shawn McGrath claimed the Camels #2 position, while Alex Johnson and Anthony Schwarberg rounded out the Camel pack.

In the JV race, Daniel Chamberlain pulled away from his training partner and finished in 50th place at 23:15, followed by Gage Howell just 30 seconds behind. Phillip Waymeyer crushed his times from last year, and Noah Franzen followed close on his heels. Trey Finkenstead finished his first race in a CC uniform and looks to build on that experience in the future.
