This past Saturday, the running Camels came flying out of the gates, leaving dust trailing behind them! In one of the most successful season openers in a while, many CCHS runners drove their previous personal bests into the ground! Leading the Lady Camels, Jennah Flairty placed 8th out of 134 runners while crushing her previous best with a time of 20:04. Anna Johnson and Kara Pangburn followed her lead and dropped minutes off of their times compared to this point last year.
In the Boys Varsity race, Mark Chaplin ran his fastest time at 17:04, placing 11 out over 140 runners. Freshman Joey McGrath, Junior Jared Neiser, Sophomore Thomas Comer, and Senior Ian Franzen rounded out the top five, putting the Camels in the top half of the meet.
In JV action, Parker Younse and Shawn McGrath Finished in the top 12, while Jake Verst and Grant Combs finished in the top third of the race.
