On a great night for soccer, the Camels JV and Varsity teams traveled to Covington and left with two wins.
The varsity team started the night off right with a 6-0 victory over Covington Latin. The Camels where too much for Cov. Latin from the opening whistle and dominated throughout the entire game. James Wilbers and Trey Schierenbeck shared time in the goal and posted the shutout. Latin was only able to get a few pushes into the Camel defense and the keepers handled each of these easily. Goals for the night were scored by Rob Augsburger with 3, Michael Dumaine with 2 and Oliver Rice with one. Assists where made by Oliver Rice with 3, Michael Dumaine with 2, and Colton Gearhart with 1. This marks three straight games without a loss for the Varsity Camels! It is nice to see that the boys are starting to hit their stride and really play together. Hopefully we can carry these dominating performances over into a tough match tonight against Highlands. Let’s go Camels!
The JV team took the field second last night in a game shortened by darkness. The boys also controlled this game from the beginning and proved too much for Covington Latin to handle winning 5-0. Goals were scored by Colton Schneider, Morgan Drake with 2, Trey Schierenbeck, and Christian Henderson. Assists were made by Morgan Drake with 2, Zach Kuebbing, and Josh Haller. The JV Camels just keep rolling through this season. They have played very well this season and they too look to take this momentum into tonight’s match against Highlands. Well done JV Camels.
