In a tri-match held at CCHS, the Camels Boys Soccer program had some great results and some not very good results.
The freshman Camels team started off the night with a dominant win over the freshman Eagles. This was a very well played game for the boys, with some great possession, team play and goal scoring. Many players scored for the freshman Camels as the posted an 8-0 victory. Goals were spread around throughout the team, with several players scoring more than once. Well done boys! Let’s take this as a very positive moment in the season and grow off of it.
The JV Camels also had a good result. In a somewhat lopsided game (not shown by the final score) the JV team had a fairly easy time moving the ball around the JV Eagles. The boys just could not find the net as often as they would have like. The JV Camels had many attacking opportunities, but were only able to net one goal in a 1-0 victory. The JV team looks to be working well together and it is showing with their play on the field and their tallies in the win column. Keep up the good work boys!
The varsity team did not have as much luck on the night and lost 4-1. The Varsity Camels struggled to match Scott’s intensity from the first whistle and went down 2-0 early. This, unfortunately, seems to be a trend of late with the varsity boys. They have the talent and ability to play in these games, but just need to do it for 80 minutes. The Camels fought back though and scored a goal before the end of the first half. Rob Augspurger had the goal, and it was assisted by Colton Gearhart. The Camels have struggled a bit this year at the beginning of games, but have shown some signs of great play throughout these games. The boys will look to rebound on Thursday at Montgomery County. Game time is 6:00pm.
