The Northern Kentucky Bowling Foundation will award six (6) $400 scholarships this year.  The application process required applicants to be a Junior or Senior in high school and to have a composite GPA of 2.5 in order to apply.  The committee was comprised of three adult volunteers with bowling experience that were unaffiliated with high school bowling and were not members of our Bowling Association.  The committee evaluated the following:  bowling accomplishments, community service, an essay and two recommendations.  Each committee members awarded points in each category to the applicants and tallied their total points.  The total points of all three of the committee members were then combined to determine the top three girls an the top three boys.  Following is our list of recipients this year:

Shannon Ramey – Boone County
Erica Biddle – Campbell County
Cassandra Cobb – Cooper
Gary Rice – St Henry
Logan Krey – St Henry
Zachary  Lawson – Scott

Congratulations to these students!  The scholarship recipients have been contacted.  As we did last year, we are offering each recipient the opportunity to request presentation of their scholarship at a venue that they would prefer.  If the recipient would prefer a presentation during a school activity it will be their responsibility to coordinate our presentation with school officials and contact us with the information on the event.

Again – thanks to all of you for making bowling such a successful sport for all of our athletes.  I look forward to next season!
