Freshman Camels Hold Off Breds

On Wednesday evening the Freshman Camels held off the Newport Catholic Thoroughbreds 39-37 at CCHS. The Camels led by 10 at the half before the Breds mounted a comeback run. Both teams battled in the final period with the Breds hitting some big 3 point shots to stay close. Nate Schafer hit a trey from deep in the corner to give the Camels the lead, but NewCath came back with a three of their own to tie the game. The Camels’ Joel Day answered with a bucket late to put the Camels up two in the final seconds. A last shot by NewCath to tie was off the mark. The Camels were led in scoring by Zane Graham.
