Earlier this week the Camels boys basketball team took on the Conner Cougars in a triple header.

In the opener, the freshman Camels lost for only the 2nd time this year as they fell to the Cougars 37-35.

In the JV contest the Camels had a 10-7 lead after one period but found themselves down at halftime. The Camels led by 3 after three periods, but Conner held a slim 3 point lead with under 10 seconds to play. Gideon Measner grabbed a rebound off of a missed Camel free throw and was fouled on the putback to complete the 3 point play and send the game to overtime. In the overtime, the Cougars were able to outscore the Camels for the win. Garren Bertsch led the Camels with 18 points and Gideon Measner scored 15.

In the varsity game, the Camels got out to a 12-6 lead but Conner came back to tie the game at 14-14 after one period. In the 2nd period, the Camels used a 12-2 run on their way to a 35-20 halftime lead. The Camels continued to build on their lead throughout the 2nd half on their way to the easy 81-52 victory.

The Camels were paced by Deondre Jackson’s 23 points and Blake Losey’s 21 on 10-14 shooting. Cole Hegyi added 12 points and Craig Neltner 10.
