Camels Fall To Scott

The Camels played the opening game of the Bluegrass-Buckeye Charity Classic taking on Scott at the Bank of Kentucky Center on Friday night. It was a key game for 37th District seedings and another game the Camels would play without the services of Matt Wilson. However, Senior Craig Neltner stepped up big time dominating the offensive boards and scoring 14 first half points. The Camels led at half 35-32.

The Scott Eagles picked up the intensity in the 2nd half and started knocking down shots. The Camels fought to match the Eagles scoring, but a few critical turnovers allowed the Eagles to extend the lead during the 3rd period. The Camels were able to cut the Eagles lead down to one with 4:15 remaining in the game, but the Eagles quickly scored the next 6 points to extend the lead back to 7. The Camels would get no closer, and as time ran down, they were forced to shoot quick shots and foul the Eagles. The final margin was 77-68 Scott.

Blake Losey led all Camels with 19 points and Craig Neltner finished with 18. Deondre Jackson managed 14 points. Craig Neltner was named player of the game for the Camels while Jake Franzen was named scholar athlete of the game.

The Camels will host Silver Grove on Tuesday night in another 37th District contest. There will be no JV game, so the Varsity game will tip at 7:00pm.
