On Monday evening the Camels boys basketball team traveled to Calvary Christian to take on the Cougars in a district matchup. The Camels easily outmanned the host team defeating the Cougars 100-29.

The outcome was never really in doubt as the Camels put up 32 points in the opening period to jump out to a 32-10 lead. The Camels outscored Calvary Christian 25-5 in the 2nd quarter to lead 57-15 at the half.

The Camels put 13 players in the scoring column during the game and played most of the 2nd half with a running clock. The Camels were led by Blake Losey’s 15 points including a breakaway dunk. Craig Neltner scored 13 including a 2-handed dunk (kinda sorta) of his own. Deondre Jackson and Jordan Day each scored 11 and Jake Franzen added 10. Cam Lemons scored 9 and hit a trey in the waning minutes to put the Camels at the century mark. The lone dark spot for the Camels was Matt Wilson’s ankle sprain early in the game as he came down on someone’s foot after a made basket.

The Varsity Camels will travel to Hebron on Tuesday night to battle the Conner Cougars.

In the JV contest, the Camels routed the Cougars 55-12 on 14 points by Evan Zumwalde. The Camels led 23-8 at the half and never were tested. Gideon Measner added 12 points for the Camels. The JV will also take on Conner on Tuesday night.
