Alex Franzen tossed a shutout to lift Campbell County to a 9-0 win over Grant County in seven innings giving the Camels their twenty-first victory of the season.
Grant County couldn’t get anything going so long as Franzen was on the hill. Grant County managed just one hit off of the Campbell County Camels Varsity’s pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out nine during his seven innings of work.
Franzen lost his no-hit bid in the seventh inning on a two out single by Lawson.
Nine runs in the opening three innings allowed Campbell County to easily put away Grant County . An RBI double by Colton Hartig, an RBI single by Cory Franzen, an RBI double by Cooper Gray, and an RBI single by Joe Eblin during the first inning and an RBI single by Hartig, a bases loaded walk by Carson Plessinger, and a sacrifice fly by Gray in the second inning supplied the early offense for Campbell County Camels Varsity.
Eblin, Hartig and Collin Teegarden helped lead the Camels. They combined for five hits and four RBIs.
Cummins was the game’s losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked four and struck out one.
