After seven lead changes in Thursday’s game, Campbell County Camels Varsity finally pulled out a 5-4 win over Bracken County.
Campbell County managed to grab the lead after a strong seventh inning finish. A wild pitch scored Cory Franzen to give Campbell County Camels the lead for good.
Dawson Hogan racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Camels. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third inning.
Connor Walsh got the win for Campbell County after taking over for Brady Brooks. He allowed one run over four innings. Walsh struck out two, walked none and gave up five hits.
Jones took the loss for Bracken County. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
The top of the first saw Bracken County take an early lead, 1-0. Jones got things going for Bracken County with a single.
Campbell County answered Bracken County’s top inning with three runs of its own in the first. Campbell County scored on an RBI double by Colton Hartig and a two-run double by Hogan.
