Campbell County defeated Summit Country Day on Tuesday 6-0 in seven innings.
Carson Plessinger racked up two RBIs on two hits for Campbell County. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the fifth inning.
The Camels Colton Hartig kept Summit Country Day off the scoreboard for all seven innings he was on the rubber. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on four hits while ringing up three.
Merritt couldn’t get it done on the mound for Summit Country Day, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 4 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out none.
Campbell County didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the second inning when it scored on a fielder’s choice.
Campbell County added two more runs in the top of the fourth. A double by Alex Franzen ignited the offense, scoring Plessinger. That was followed up by Dawson Hogan‘s single, bringing home Franzen.
