Campbell County Camels beat Newport Central Catholic 6-1 in seven innings on Friday behind Brady Sansom, who collected three hits.
He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and fifth innings.
Johnny Eblin was a workhorse on the bump while bagging the win for Campbell County. Eblin allowed one earned run, three hits and no walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.
Workman was charged with the loss. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
Newport Central Catholic scored its only run of the game on a sacrifice fly by S. Pangallo in the first inning.
The game’s last lead went to Campbell County thanks to a fourth inning rally that saw one run cross the plate on a sacrifice fly by Cameron Edwards.
The Camels got two-run rallies in the fifth inning and the sixth. In the fifth, Campbell County Camels scored on a two-run single by Kevin Skinner, plating Sansom and Carson Plessinger.
Campbell County piled on two more runs in the bottom of the sixth. A error scored Edwards to start the scoring in the inning.
