Cameron Edwards did his best to change the outcome, but Edwards couldn’t carry Campbell County past Beechwood as the Camels lost 3-1 in seven innings on Tuesday.
Edwards was a workhorse on the rubber for Campbell County. Edwards allowed one earned run, six hits and no walks while striking out three over seven innings of work.
Stringer recorded the win for Beechwood. He allowed one run over five innings. Stringer struck out none, walked one and gave up two hits.
Edwards took the loss for Campbell County.
Beechwood closer Slusher put away the final six outs to record the save.
Beechwood stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first, scoring two runs on an error.
The lone run of the game for the Camels crossed the plate in the fifth inning on an RBI single by Blake Losey.
