Blake Losey did all he could to give Campbell County Camels Varsity a boost, but it wasn’t enough to get past Henry Clay, as Campbell County Camels Varsity lost 5-3 in seven innings at Henry Clay on Saturday.
Blake boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate to pace Campbell County Camels Varsity. He singled in the fifth and sixth innings.
May got the win for Henry Clay. He pitched four shutout innings. May struck out two, walked two and gave up two hits.
Kyle Becker was charged with the loss. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
The game was never in doubt after the first, as Henry Clay scored four runs on two errors and an RBI single by Elsen.
After pushing across three runs in the top of the fifth, Campbell County Camels Varsity faced just a 4-3 deficit. An error, a walk by Robert Metz, and an error fueled Campbell County Camels Varsity’s comeback. The Campbell County Camels Varsity threat came to an end when Prewitt finally got Cameron Edwards to ground out.
