Stevens recorded the win for Montgomery County. He allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered five hits.
Montgomery County was sparked by Tomlin and Blanton, who teamed up for four hits and four RBIs.
Cameron Edwards took the loss for Campbell County Camels Varsity. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked one and struck out two.
The lead stayed with Montgomery County after the first, when it scored three runs on two singles.
Montgomery County posted one run in each of the second, fifth and sixth. In the second, Montgomery County scored on a solo home run by Tomlin.
Montgomery County built upon its lead with three runs in the fourth. Thomas started the inning with a single. That was followed up by Stevens’ single, plating Thomas.
After pushing across three runs in the top of the sixth, Campbell County Camels Varsity faced just a 8-3 deficit. An RBI single by Brady Sansom, an RBI single by Erik “Willy” Cox, and an RBI single by Robert Metz triggered Campbell County Camels Varsity’s comeback. Finally, Dalton Stevens got Johnny Eblin to ground out to end the threat.
After pushing across one run in the top of the seventh, Campbell County Camels Varsity faced just a 8-4 deficit. A sacrifice fly by Joe Kremer sparked Campbell County Camels Varsity’s rally. Dalton ended the game by getting Joey Dawn to ground out.
