Campbell County Camels Varsity took down Johnson Central 10-0 on Saturday at Newport Central Catholic after slamming Johnson Central with six runs in the fifth inning.
Gabe Kremer racked up three RBIs on one hit for Campbell County. He knocked his first High School homer in the fifth inning.
Johnson Central’s lineup had no answer for Johnny Eblin. Johnson Central managed just one hit off of the Camels pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his five innings of work.
Mayes ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
Campbell County never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring two runs on two singles.
Campbell Countyadded two more runs in the bottom of the second. The inning looked promising, as Joe Kremer singled, bringing home Gabe to kick things off.
