Camels falls to Cooper 10-6 in spite of Griffis’ performance

Paul Griffis did all he could to give Camels a boost, but it wasn’t enough to get past Cooper, as Camels lost 10-6 in seven innings at Tom Mohr Field on Monday.
Griffis racked up two RBIs on two hits for Camels. He singled in the first and fourth innings.
Smith got the win for Cooper. He allowed four runs over five innings. Smith struck out four, walked four and gave up seven hits.
Carr, Collins and Hathorn helped lead Cooper. They combined for seven hits and eight RBIs.
Camels jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Griffis got things going for Camels with a single. A stolen base then moved Griffis from first to second.
Camels answered Cooper’s top inning with one run of its own in the second. Camels scored on a walk by Griffis.
Camels got one-run rallies in the third inning and the fourth. In the third, Camels scored on a sacrifice fly by Avery Wood, plating Tyler Walsh.
Cooper went up for good in the fourth, scoring four runs on a three-run home run by Hathorn and an RBI single by Carr.
Cooper scored two runs in the sixth inning, and then followed it up with two more in the seventh. In the sixth, Cooper scored on a walk by Collins, bringing home #7.
The inning got off to a hot start when Carr tripled, scoring #7.
Two runs in the bottom of the seventh helped Camels close its deficit to 10-6. A two-run error fueled Camels’ comeback. But, Schumacher got Mitch Kramer to fly out to end the game.
