Camels School Clark Montessori

After a week off due to scheduling and Mother Nature, the Camels were back in action on Tuesday night hosting Clark Montessori from Ohio.  The Camels raced out to a quick 20-6 lead in the first quarter with a well balanced scoring attack as six different Camels found their way into the scoring column.  The Camels cooled off a bit in the 2nd quarter being outscored by the visiting Cougars 12-11, but still found themselves leading at the half 31-18.

The 2nd half belonged to the Camels big man, Matt Wilson, as he scored 21 of his game high 29 points after the break.  Wilson was too strong for the Cougar post players as he finished the night with 4 dunks including a nice alley-oop assist from Joel Day.  The Camels were able to maintain their double digit lead throughout the 2nd half as point guard Trent McGovney poured in 17 points for the game and Cole Hegyi added 11.  Wilson also grabbed 14 rebounds to go along with his 29 points.  The Camels also got some strong defense from Tanner Clos who seemed to have more blocks than a Lego set.   The end result was a 76-60 Camels victory.

The Camels will host the Augusta Panthers on Thursday evening in a 10th Region matchup, and then the Scott Eagles come to town on Saturday in a makeup game which was snowed out last week.  Saturday’s matchup with Scott will take place at 5:30 at the Campbell County Middle School.
