Colonels Route Camels

The Camels faced Covington Catholic in a rematch of last years 1st round state tournament game on Tuesday night, and although the names and faces have changed, the end result was still the same.  The Colonels used a 27-point second period to jump out to a 42-19 halftime lead, and the Camels were never able to recover.

Matt Wilson and Cole Hegyi scored all 9 points for the Camels in the opening stanza as the Camels trailed 15-9 after one period.  In the second period, the Colonels hit several threes and were able to convert Camel turnovers into points as they raced out to the large halftime margin.  Colonel standout, Cole Von Handorf was difficult to contain as he led all scorers with 24 points.

The Camels scoring struggles continued throughout the 2nd half as they fought to get back into the game.  In the end the Colonels were too much, and the Camels were on the wrong side of the 76-46 score.  Matt Wilson led the Camels with 17 points and Cole Hegyi chipped in 13.  The Camels will travel to Dixie on Wednesday night to take on the “Red Colonels”.
