At the NKAC meet on Tuesday, the Camels faced a new course at Scott High School which always makes for a tough mental day. Jennah Flairty solidified her push as one of the top runners in the area with a strong second place finish, becoming the highest placing Lady Camel in the conference in many years. The rest of the Lady Camels continued their push for improved times and continue to melt away the seconds.

In the boys race, Mark Chaplin placed 6th of 78 runners, continuing his run for the front of the pack, while Joey McGrath once again decidedly clasped the Camel number 2 spot.

In the St. Henry Invitational on Saturday, the Lady Camels were fighting injuries and illness, leaving our pack a little thin. Despite missing some runners, the Camels competed well, with Jennah Flairty placing 4th and dropping her times back into the sub-20’s with a 19:58. Anna Johnson, Allison Wendling, and Kara Pangburn all beat their times from last year, continuing their improvements.

In the Varsity boys race, the team bounced back from Tuesday’s rough conference split to an improved 1-5 split of 1:48, again inching further up in the region standings. Mark Chaplin lead the Camels with a 4th place finish in race of 136 runners. Pulling close this week was Joey McGrath as the freshman continues to fight through to the top, Kevin Lackey, Jared Neiser, and Peter Glenn rounded out the fight for the Camels, placing them 4th overall in a huge meet and what would have been a close 2nd among the teams in our region.
