Kevin Skinner did all he could to give Campbell County a boost, but it wasn’t enough to get past Bourbon County, as the Camels lost 5-4 in eight innings on Monday.
It was a good day at the plate for Campbell County Camels ‘s Skinner. Skinner went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the fourth and fifth innings and doubled in the seventh inning.
Jackson got the win in relief for Bourbon County. Jackson pitched three innings and allowed no runs.
Connor Walsh couldn’t get it done on the bump for Campbell County,, taking a loss. He went two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
Bourbon County jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third. Courtney singled to ignite Bourbon County’s offense, before Dove doubled, plating Hunt.
Campbell County Camels got two-run rallies in the fourth inning and the fifth. In the fourth, Campbell County scored on a wild pitch, bringing homeCory Franzen.
Bourbon County tallied one run in each of the fifth, seventh and eighth. In the fifth, Bourbon County scored on a groundout by Jones, plating Walters.
