KHSAA Class 3A State Track Meet Results

KHSAA CLASS 3A STATE TRACK MEET 5/24/14

At the KHSAA Class 3A State Track Meet on the campus of the University of Kentucky, both the girls and boys team sent a number of qualifiers down to compete with the best the state of Kentucky had to offer. Participants of both squads turned in great performances and in the process set a few new school records and PRs. The results of the day for the girls who qualified were:

  • Becca Cline ran a personal best, set a new school record, and finished 5th in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 15.57
  • The 4×200 team of Becca Cline, Emily Orth, Kaitlyn Donoghue, and Meredith Donoghue ran a season’s best, 1:52.88 and finished in 22nd place
  • In the 1600 Meter Run, Jennah Flairty placed 6th with a time of 5:15.79 and set a new school record in the event
  • In the 300 Meter Hurdles, Becca Cline ran a season’s and personal best 45.50 and placed 2nd in the event
  • Jennah Flairty set a new school record in the 3200 Meter Run with a time of 11:54.43 and finished in  11th place

The results of the day for the boys who qualified were:

  • Devon Strange ran a personal best 52.09 in the 400 Meter Dash and  placed 17th in the event
  • Mark Chaplin placed 9th and set a new school record in the 3200 Meter Run by finishing in 9:38.16
  • Doug Carson placed 21st in the Shot Put with a throw of 40-06.00
  • In the Long Jump, Andrew Hyden jumped 18-03.75 which was good for a 23rd place finish
  • Andrew Hyden came in 19th in the Triple Jump with a jump of 40-02.50
  • In the pole vault, Ben See and John Leopold tied for 18th place

The State Track meet brought an end to a great season for both the girls and the boys teams as many new PRs were set throughout the year and quite a few school records fell. Also, big congratulations goes out to all the Camels’ athletes who qualified and competed at the State meet this weekend in Lexington, as well as the rest of the members of both teams for a great and successful season!
